About Valley Vax

What is Valley Vax?

The idea for Valley Vax came out of a conversation between an Amherst family practice doctor and staff at the Amherst Public Health Department about how we might work together to ensure that our community has access to accurate science-based information about vaccines.

The group grew to include other health departments and health care providers in the region who all shared the same concern about vaccine-related misinformation circulating in the community. Together, these stakeholders decided to create a website featuring the voices of people who live in the Pioneer Valley that could serve as a trusted local source of accurate information. The group also recognized that it is important for people to be able to ask questions and have open conversations about vaccines and health. The hope is that this website will serve as jumping off point for dialogue about how we can make informed choices for ourselves and our families.

The website provides connections to local health departments in the region where staff, including public health nurses, can answer questions and help people to access vaccines. Other partners who support this effort include local pediatricians and other entities whose logos appear below.
